Devotional: Every human being is a searcher

The Rev. Christopher Snook included this message to his parishioners in the Onion Lake First Nation Anglican Newsletter
Every human being is a searcher. Some days we search for friendship, other days we search for work, or for peace, or for a way out of a hard situation.
No matter who we are we cannot spend a day without searching for something.
But did you know that God is also a searcher? He does not search for the things we often search for: food, shelter or clothing. Instead of searching for those things, he spends every day searching for something far more valuable: he is searching for us. This is what Christians believe, that God sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to search for each one of us and to bring us back to God. How does he do it? By taking away the one thing that keeps us from knowing God’s love – our sin – and by giving us the one thing we need to grow in God’s love – faith.
Many of us have faith in God, but it is easy to forget that faith is like love: it needs to be taken care of. Where will your faith be cared for, grow and deepen? Jesus tells us where: our faith grows in his Church. Please join us.
May God bless us all!
I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love. - Mother Teresa
