Betsy McKenzie has died

Mrs. Betsy McKenzie, OS, a well loved, perennial figure of the Anglican Church Women of the Diocese of Saskatchewan, and for many years the most influential elder of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Stanley Mission, was buried yesterday outside that historic church. She was 85.
Mrs. McKenzie, who had fifteen children, was for countless years President of that Parish's ACW.
To give a sense of her faith and personality, here is a letter she sent to the Diocesan ACW when she retired from that organization (it was translated into English since she spoke only Cree):
Dear Friends,
I am glad to come here to this Holy Church. I am glad I was able to help in A.C.W. I felt awful I could not do this kind of work anymore, it’s because I was sick and unable to do this kind of work anymore. I met a lot of friends. And I love them very much. And I got a chance to meet a lot of people from all over the place. It always came first and many people came together to make lasting friendships. Lots of people get their sins forgiven by loving one another, and if you are not loving and friendly with other people you might not get your sins forgiven. That is how I see and read in the Holy Bible.
Thank you
Elder Betsy McKenzie.
