Sermon for Palm Sunday by our Canon Theologian

Robert Crouse.jpgThe whole affair seems contradictory. And today's liturgy mirrors precisely that contradiction. We sing that glorious and triumphal ninth-century hymn, "All glory, laud and honour to thee redeemer King." We bless and distribute the branches of palm, the symbols of his kingship; and then we read the Passion according to St. Matthew - that cruel and violent story of the condemnation of the just and innocent.

Umm. I'm sure Fr. Crouse preached for more than four sentences? Or that there is a pithier extract than this if that is all you intended to post? I've clicked on everything in sight and still just come up with this little blurb.

My mistake. Thank you for pointing it out: I would have missed it otherwise. It's corrected now.
