Archbishop of Canterbury to conduct retreat for Canadian bishops next week

Rowan-Williams.jpgThe Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, will be paying a short visit to Canada next week at the invitation of the Primate of Canada, Archbishop Andrew Hutchison. The main purpose of the visit is for Dr Williams to conduct a retreat at a meeting of the Canadian House of Bishops on Tuesday. Prior to this, on Monday, Dr Williams will be visiting the Provincial offices and Trinity and Wycliffe theological colleges, from which he will receive honorary degrees. He will deliver the Larkin Stuart lecture for both institutions.

The Larkin Stuart Lectures are sponsored jointly by Trinity College and St. Thomas' Church, Toronto, of which the Rev. Mark Andrews is Rector.  Fr. Andrews was formerly Curate of St. Alban's Cathedral, Prince Albert.  At Wycliffe College, the Archbishop will be hosted by its Principal, Dr. George Sumner, who is also Canon Missioner of the Diocese of Saskatchewan.
