Workshops at Synod

The Workshops at the 66th Diocese of Saskatchewan Synod include: (all are on Friday Oct 16th)

2:00 p.m. - 2:45 p.m.   ELDER ABUSE

 

Fern Fernie of the Prince Albert Community Against Family Violence will lead a workshop on Elder Abuse.  The workshop will identify the different types of elder abuse, identify the indicators of each type of abuse, and educate individuals about how to approach the problem.

Find out how you can help older victims of abuse and how to protect those who once protected us.

 

3:00 p.m. – 3:45 p.m.   NORTHERN MANITOBA AREA MISSION

Archdeacon Larry Beardy from the Diocese of Keewatin and Mrs. Freda Lepine from the Diocese of Brandon will be speaking about the desire of the native parishes to move towards greater self-determination within the Anglican Church of Canada and within their own dioceses. 

The Diocese of Brandon and Keewatin are looking at a proposal to form an Area Mission in Northern Manitoba that would be served by an Indigenous Bishop.
