Honouring Doug Sinclair
Sunday, March 15, 2009 at 03:24PM By Mic Sinclair, his
Doug Sinclair (front right) at the annual Lay Readers Service at St Alban’s Cathedral, Prince Albertwife of 50 years.
Doug Sinclair lives his life guided by Christ. He has served in a ministry of Lay Reader for approximately 35 years in the Diocese of Saskatchewan. Doug has served the congregations of All Saints’ Church in Melfort, and St. Paul’s Church in Meskanaw.
Doug’s preparation for his work as lay reader comes from his times of daily prayer and in reading and studying the bible. He follows the answers he gets from God to his prayers.
Doug’s work within the church is his first priority in life. He feels it is an honour to be available if our parish priest asks for his assistance in any capacity. His humble contribution is never meant to be recognized but he is grateful for the gift from God to be able to do what he can do.
Doug’s heart stopped in 1995 but God was there for Doug. God guided the doctors to help with his recovery and Doug has been ever so grateful that God was not finished with hm. God has guided him in being a very faithful servant, and I am sure Doug will continue being that way.
