National Aboriginal Day of Prayer: June 21

The Anglican Church of Canada has celebrated a National Aboriginal Day of Prayer every year for nearly four decades. Now, some proposed Propers have been drafted.

See the National Aboriginal Day of Prayer propers here.

The proposed Propers were prepared by the Faith, Worship and Ministry committee of the Anglican Church of Canada, in partnership with the Anglican Council of Indigenous Peoples.

"National Aboriginal Day is observed in many, many ways in First Nations communities," said Donna Bomberry, Indigenous Ministries coordinator. "This is a way of inviting the non-Aboriginal community to be prayerful on that day as Indigenous communities observe the day in many various ways."

More information and resources are also available through the Worship Resources section of the Faith, Worship and Ministry Committee's web site.
