Diocesan Youth Worker

The position of Diocesan Youth Worker is a half time position, with remuneration and benefits according to the standard set for clergy by the Council of the North. The position carries with it the following general responsibilities:
- the organization of Diocesan and regional youth events
- the identification and training adult youth workers in parishes throughout the Diocese
- the coordination and support the ongoing leadership of parish youth workers
- the creation and maintenance of contact lists of youth and adult youth workers in the Diocese of Saskatchewan to establish a fellowship and network of Anglican youth and of those interested in youth ministry in the Diocese of Saskatchewan
- the establishment, training and support of a Diocesan Youth Ministry Committee
More specifically, the task of the Youth Worker would include
Identifying youth volunteers in parishes, in cooperation with the priest-in-charge, and assisting clergy in starting and maintaining parish youth ministry.
Holding workshops to train volunteers as Sunday school teachers and youth group leaders.
Planning and supervising youth and inter-generational events on a local and regional basis with a view to establishing continuing events.
Speaking publicly on the importance of youth ministry/evangelism.
Supervising, network with and act as a resource person for volunteer youth workers.
The applicant would need to be an active member of the Anglican Church, with training and experience in youth work and youth ministry.
